Citizen's Information Committee

CIC Minutes

The Citizen's Information Committee (CIC) was formed in November, 1989, to provide an avenue for information sharing and dialogue between the United States Environmental protection Agency's Region 5 and the area's communities. The CIC was composed of private citizens and representatives of local and state government, environmental activist groups, Indiana University, the legal community, medical and health professionals, and the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. The committee meets approximately every six to eight weeks depending on when major evens are taking place, to discuss issues of immediate community concern regarding the local PCB sites. Committee members are charged with the responsibility of disseminating information to their constituents and providing a meeting space and a chairperson for the committee.

For the last few years there has been no representative from the legal or medical community and no representative from the Chamber of Commerce. The amount of information now being generated at the CIC meetings is extremely relevant and important.

Warning! Eat no fish from Clear Creek, Pleasant Run, Salt or Richland Creeks.
